MOD. IRBA
IRBA optical screens have been studied to allow accurate and repeatable measurements of projectile velocity, in indoor firing or field measurements, of ammunition from 4 mm to .50 BMG calibres. They are composed of two carrying structures containing infrared light emitter units and receiving units.
The sensitive area is constituted of the part of surface delimited by emitter-receiver units, placed one facing the other at the distance of 1 m. Shot passage is found through change of the light signal picked up by optoelectronic sensors, a blade of infrared light, produced by emitter, carves on.
Main features
- Large range of detected calibres.
- Large range of detected velocities.
- Large sensitive surface.
- Threshold selection.
- Elimination of low frequency components.
- High insensitivity to blast wave.
- Possibility of simultaneous measure of rate of fire and of shot velocity
